Carved from Italian Carrara white marble and standing over eight feet tall, Salient I is a dramatic, self-enclosed meditation on form and material. In realizing this new work, Richard honed in on the elemental form of the crescent. Salient I is an arrangement of six crescents, very much inspired by the waxing and waning of the moon, never quite reaching fullness.
