Salient I

Standing over eight feet tall Salient I rises, a dramatic and self-enclosed meditation on fluidity of motion, strength, and relationship. In realizing this new work, Richard honed in on the elemental form of the crescent: Salient I is an arrangement of six crescents, and Salient II seven. Finding inspiration by restricting his visual vocabulary, Richard notes that he was “forced to work in a way where each crescent would be honored.”
